Call for Papers

With the depletion of fossil fuels and the requirement of climate change mitigation, bioenergy which mainly refers to biogas, bioethanol, biomass, biohydrogen, and biodiesel has attracted more and more from both academic and industry, because it has been recognized as a promising and environmental friendly renewable energy sources for substituting the traditional fossil fuels. Accordingly, the development of bioenergy is beneficial for CO2 emission mitigation and energy security enhancement. However, the production of bioenergy requires large amount of fossil fuels and also emits greenhouse gases in its life cycle. Therefore, the lean production of bioenergy for a more sustainable future has been a hot spot nowadays.

This special issue of European Journal of Sustainable Development Research on Bioenergy, Sustainability and Energy Transition for a more Sustainable Future: Progress, Process and Policy aims at creating a multidisciplinary forum of discussion on the progress of bioenergy, the process for bioenergy production, and the policy implications concerning the development of bioenergy. This issue accepts high quality articles containing original full length research articles, review articles and short communications for the readers to know more about how to promote low-carbon energy transition and the sustainable development of bioenergy.
