Abstract
Scientific process skills are the essential skill which located in the areas of learning in the Science Education Program and contain such as observation, measurement, classification skills used by the scientist in the scientific process. Individuals' inference abilities used method of argument are also important skills at scientific process. In this study aimed to determine primary education students‟ scientific inference situations. Stake‟s (1996) instrumental case study was used in this study. The research data were collected a total 45 primary students in 2013-2014 academic year at the primary school in Balıkesir. Used the tasks as the data collection tool contain case studies, short story, experiment and analogy which developed by researchers. Open-ended questions are situated at the end of the tasks for enable to students make the scientific inferences. The data obtained from open-ended questions were coded using content analysis. At the end of study, students' scientific inference have been found to be insufficient.
