Abstract

Problem Statement: When the literature is examined, there are few examples of studies about EBA and teacher views on EBA. However, the examination of student opinions is also important in that the "student" factor, which is based on the project, is not ignored. The views and recommendations of our students who are actively using this system , are extremely important. It was seen that there was not a study that included student opinions about EBA. It is thought to be important because it is the first about the subject of the study. The views from the students will be important for the more efficient use of the system.
Purpose of the Study: The aim of this study is to determine the views of secondary school students towards the Educational Information Network (EBA) through interview questions. Depending on this purpose, it is aimed to determine the opinions of the secondary school students about the sources of internet access, the time spent on the internet, the sites that they use while studying or doing research, and the frequency of entrance to EBA and its usage and usage purposes.
Method(s): In the study case study research method was used. The research's study group consists of 10 students (6 girls, 4 boys) at different grade levels of a state secondary school located in the central district of Çanakkale in the spring semester of 2015-2016 academic year. A purposeful sample was used for the purpose of research in the study. Semi-structured interview questions were used as data collection tools in the research. Following the development of the questions by the researchers, the questions were determined as 12 questions by taking the expert opinion. The research questions are classified as two topics as personal information and questions for the purpose of the research. Each interview was occurred on a voluntary basis and was recorded with the permission of the participants. Frequency analysis, coding technique, descriptive content analysis technique was used to analyze the responses of the participants to open-ended questions. In the obtained data, the frequency (f) and percentage (%) values are shown comparatively and the student answers are cited in the related questions.
Findings and Discussions: According to the findings obtained from the research results, the findings can be listed as follows. Students usually use the home computer for the internet. According to the result of the research, they are using internet mostly for studying and using social networks. All of the students are aware of the EBA system and expressed their entry frequency as "3-4 days a week" It seems to be, the students are using EBA for purposes such as repeating the subject, playing games, solving the tests and doing the homework. Most of the students use the EBA to repeat the topics. Even though 80% of the students are aware of the different contents in the EBA, only 30% of them use these contents. The use of EBA in lessons does not seem to be sufficient for most of the students, and it is based on the problem of the internet connection in the school. All of the students stated that EBA is as a useful system. According to the students, EBA has several sides that can be improved. Regarding this; emphasizing views such as enriching the content, placing an interesting homepage, arranging information competitions, and correcting technical problems.
Conclusions and Recommendations: When the students' views on the Educational Information Network (EBA) are taken into account, the suggestions regarding the system can be stated as follows. It should be attempted to attract the attention of the students to the different contents of the EBA. EBA should be used not only outside of the classroom, but also in the course with interactive boards. However, technical problems related to this should be solved. Mobile application should be developed in order to increase and spread the usage rate of EBA. Content coverage and test question numbers in the EBA should be increased. Animation and interactive videos that exist in EBA should be used and enriched on every lesson. A more attractive home page should be used to attract students
